Welcome to Barrows Green
We have built a reputation on our ability to support children in Barrows Green through a holistic approach that addresses the key factors influencing the child’s wellbeing. Barrows Green works with the child to set goals, identify what needs to change for them to achieve positive outcomes, and prepare for the next stage in their lives.
KEvin orme
Kevin has worked in the healthcare sector for over 8 years, initially supporting young people with learning disabilities and autism. However, for the past 4 years Kevin has changed focus to concentrate solely on Children’s Residential Homes supporting children with EBD (Emotional, Behavioural Difficulties) with a focus on attachment, trauma and therapeutic parenting.
Kevin holds a children, young people and families manager qualification at Level 5 alongside an NVQ Level 3 in supporting children and young people. He is working towards his Level 7 in senior leadership, with an estimated completion date of December 2026. He also has a qualification in ‘The Institution of Occupational Health and Safety’ (IOSHH).
Before joining Sure Steps, Kevin was managing a solo-placement home, which throughout his time at the home was able to maintain a ‘Good’ Ofsted rating throughout. He now has an established history of leading our homes to success, with his leadership of the Palm Grove team in 2025 being shortlisted in the National Children’s Homes Awards in the ‘Supporting Achievement In Education’ category.
